Let’s Cut to the Chase.
We’ve paused chick shipping.
Why? Because USPS delays + baby birds = disaster. We’ve lost sleep—and birds—trying to make that system work. We’re done.
But here's the part people miss:
We're still hatching chicks. We’re just doing it differently.
Here’s What Went Down.
Too many delays. Too many losses. Too many heartbreak emails that start with: “Hey, I think something’s wrong with the box...”
Even with all the care in the world, we can’t out-pack a broken system.
And honestly? We’d rather protect the birds—and your trust—than roll the dice with USPS again.
So, yeah. Chick shipping is paused.
But hatching season? Oh, that’s still clucking on.
What We're Doing Instead.
We’re still hatching chicks.
We’re still pairing breeders with purpose.
We’re still fully in the game.
But this spring, we’re focusing on two things:
🪺 Custom hatches for local pickup
If you’re near NW Ohio, we’ll hatch what you need—and hand you healthy chicks right from our brooders. No shipping, no gamble, no fluff.
🥚 Hatching eggs for everyone else
We’re still shipping fertile eggs, carefully packed and preservation-minded. Whether you’re using a broody hen or an incubator, hatching at home just makes more sense right now.
We Didn’t Plan to Rent Incubators… But Here We Are.
After a few conversations with folks who wanted to hatch but didn’t want to drop cash on gear they’d only use once or twice, we decided to share what we already had.
We’re now offering incubator rentals hoping to remove a barrier.
Because the more people who feel empowered to hatch their own birds, the better for the breeds we love.
What’s Actually Working for Us Right Now
-
Letting our broodies do their thing
-
Leaning on reliable incubators when we need them
-
Shipping hatching eggs, not live chicks
-
Prioritizing the birds over the box
That’s the kind of flock keeping we stand behind—less stress, more survival instincts, and a stronger connection to the chicks you raise.
And If You're Not Hatching Right Now? That’s Cool Too.
Maybe this isn’t your season. Maybe you’re just here to learn.
Either way, we’re glad you’re clucking around with us.
We'll be here, doing what we always do:
Breeding with backbone.
Raising birds that remember how to survive.
And telling the truth—even when it’s messy.
🐓 Clancy Crowed It:
“Fewer boxes. Better birds. That’s the point.
