How to Use (Quick Crisis Playbook)

Minor Wounds / Peck Sites

  1. Glove up. Trim feathers if needed.

  2. Rinse with Eye Solution or clean water; cleanse with Wound Spray.

  3. Pat dry, dab Healing Ointment, cover with gauze, secure with Vet Wrap (snug, not tight).

  4. Isolate if others are pecking; monitor daily.

Active Bleeding

  1. Direct pressure with gauze.

  2. Apply Blood Stop Powder; hold 30–60 sec.

  3. Cover lightly; keep bird calm and warm.

If bleeding doesn’t slow in a few minutes, call a vet.

Bumblefoot / Swelling Support

  1. Mix warm Epsom soak (about 1 Tbsp per cup of water).

  2. Soak foot 10–15 min; pat dry.

  3. Light ointment, gauze + Vet Wrap “bootie” if needed to keep clean.

Deep infections or advanced cases? Vet time.

Eye Irritation (dust/debris)

  1. Flush with Eye Solution until clear.

  2. Dab outer lids dry with gauze; repeat later if needed.

Cloudiness, pus, or swelling? Vet.

Heat Stress Support

  1. Move to shade/ventilation, offer cool (not icy) water with Vitamins & Electrolytes per label.

  2. Mist legs/underwings lightly; do not dunk the bird.

Lethargy/relapse = vet.

Keeper Notes & Safety

  • This kit supports first response; it’s not a substitute for a poultry-savvy veterinarian.

  • Use products as labeled; avoid powders near eyes/nose; external use only.

  • After washing significant shell-less or thin-shell-related wounds, monitor for laying strain and hydration.

  • Pain, deep punctures, bone/tendon exposure, prolapse, severe heat stress, or persistent bleeding = urgent vet care.

Storage & Prep

  • Keep kit dry, accessible, and labeled; check contents seasonally.

  • Note lot/expiry dates on consumables; replace as needed.

  • Toss a headlamp and a few zip-top bags in your kit—future you will say thanks.

Eco-Conscious Production

Right-sized consumables, reusable tools, minimal packaging. Printed inserts are made to order to reduce waste.
