Can you tell me when you purchased a waterer from us? I cannot find an order for you.
I am sorry that you had issues. The handle should not be sharp, nor should the top come off when you are carrying it. We use these waterers in our pens and have not had that issue.

Very pleased with this top fill waterer!

We've tried various waterers through the past few years--top fill and flip over type. This the first top fill waterer that has worked as described. It's sturdy and built well. It is transparent enough that you can see the water level. Our hens took to it right away. Would highly recommend.
