Reserve a custom hatch of our landrace chicks for local pickup in Northwest Ohio. You choose the breed and timing, pay a per-chick deposit, and we’ll set the eggs just for your order.

Once the hatch wraps up, we’ll meet you at a pre-arranged location for pickup—not at the farm (we love our chickens too much to risk biosecurity).

What breeds do we offer?

• Swedish Flower Hen – A friendly, sociable breed that lays 150-200 cream to light brown eggs per year. Cold-hardy and moderately heat tolerant. (Hens ~5 lbs, Roosters ~6 lbs)
• Hedemora – Exceptionally cold-hardy and calm, Hedemoras lay 150 creamy white to beige eggs annually, sometimes speckled. Often broody and excellent mothers. (Hens ~4 lbs, Roosters ~5 lbs)
• Swedish Black Hen (Svarthöna) – A rare, all-black breed that lays 100-150 small to medium light brown eggs per year. Intelligent, alert, and moderately heat tolerant. (Hens ~3 lbs, Roosters ~4.5 lbs)
• Shetland Hen – A small but friendly Scottish breed that lays 150-200 pale tinted to blue or green eggs per year. Cold and heat tolerant, great for free-range environments. (Hens ~2-3 lbs, Roosters ~3.5-4.5 lbs)
• Icelandic – A hardy, independent landrace breed that lays 150-180 medium-sized white to cream eggs per year. Broody, reliable mothers who thrive in free-range settings. (Hens ~3.5 lbs, Roosters ~5 lbs)
• Ölandsk Dwarf – One of the smallest heritage breeds, weighing only 1.5-2 lbs. These tiny but mighty foragers lay 100-160 small cream to tinted eggs per year and are incredibly cold-hardy.
• HEN PICKED Chicks - Let us do the choosing. It’s perfect for folks who love variety, trust our judgment, or just can’t decide (we get it). You’ll still get rare, resilient genetics—just without the breed stress.

Our Commitment to Quality

• Extra Chicks When Available – When possible, we include bonus chicks to make your order even more exciting!
• NPIP-Certified & A/I Clean – Our flock meets National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) standards under participant #31-1508 (Tina Hines).
• Virtual Farm Connection – While we do not offer public farm visits, we share photos, video chats, and personalized customer support to help you feel connected to your chicks’ origins.

🐓 How It Works:

1. Pick your breed and estimated pickup window.

   🐣 Minimum of 6 chicks per order(You can mix and match)

2. Pay a 50% non-refundable deposit per chick to reserve your hatch.

3. We set the eggs and monitor development.

4. After hatch, we’ll confirm how many chicks are ready.

5. Pickup is coordinated off-site, in or near Delta Ohio — we’ll confirm exact details before hatch day.

6. Final balance is paid before pickup, based on what actually hatched.

• Hatch rates aren’t guaranteed—nature does her thing.

• Deposits are non-refundable (once we set the eggs, they’re yours).

• We don’t offer on-farm pickup—biosecurity is non-negotiable.

• Pickup locations will be agreed on ahead of time (we’re flexible, but we don’t chase people across counties).
