Prima Heat Lamp

4 items left

Warm chicks, not the coop. The Prima Heat Lamp uses a protective plastic grill and a glass-reinforced plastic housing to shield the bulb and help reduce fire risk—so you get steady brooder warmth without flirting with disaster. Ventilated design = heat where you want it, airflow where you need it.

Who It’s For

Keepers who want lamp-style warmth with extra safeguards, busy brooders in cool rooms, and anyone who’s done letting flimsy clip lights run the show.

What It Does / Why It Works

  • Built-in shield: Plastic grill helps keep beaks, bedding, and curious hands off the hot bulb.

  • Heat-tough body: Glass-reinforced plastic resists high temps and daily use.

  • Cleaner airflow: Venting helps disperse heat so the brooder warms—not the fixture.

  • No guesswork setup: Designed for straightforward installation in standard brooder setups.

Materials & Build

Glass-reinforced plastic housing with protective plastic grill. Made for daily brooder duty: durable, heat-resistant, wipe-clean.

How to Use / What to Expect

  1. Mount securely above the brooder so chicks have a warm zone and a cooler escape zone.

  2. Use only manufacturer-approved bulb types/wattage (bulb not included).

  3. Start around 95°F at chick height for week one; drop about 5°F each week.

  4. Check with a thermometer; raise or lower the lamp to fine-tune.

  5. Ventilation matters—do not use in enclosed spaces, barrels, or totes. Keep dry and draft-controlled.

Safety Notes (Read these—seriously)

  • Keep clear of flammables (bedding, cardboard, curtains).

  • Secure the fixture and add a backup chain/cable. No dangling, no tipping.

  • Never move a hot lamp; let it cool completely before handling.

  • Inspect cords, grill, and housing routinely; replace if cracked or damaged.

Shipping & Timing

Ships with your farm-supply order. If your cart also includes print-on-demand gear, those items ship separately.
