Insert divider (for two minerals) or remove it for a single product.
Fill one side with insoluble granite grit (helps birds grind feed).
Fill the other with soluble oyster shell (free-choice calcium for actively laying hens).
Place the station in a dry, covered spot near the feeder, away from waterers to keep contents dry.
Birds self-regulate: layers take shell as needed; all birds that eat whole grains/greens/insects need grit.
Chicks & growers: use chick-sized grit only if you offer anything besides crumbles; do not offer oyster shell until birds are laying.
Shake out fines weekly; wash with mild soap and warm water, rinse, and dry fully before refilling. Keep minerals dry; replace if clumped. Avoid harsh chemicals and abrasives.

Definitely helped when my chickens are free ranging and are too lazy to walk all the way back to the coop for the grit and oyster shells. They went to as soon as i put it out. Love it!
When I ordered this I didn’t expect it to be so big, three compartments yes, but this things is much larger than anticipated.
All of my chickens can eat out of it! We have chickens from bantam size all the way to a giant Langshan and they can all get into it without any problem.
The lid stays on great, it’s not loose so even if my birds knock it over the lid stays attached.
When it’s full, it’s very hefty so it’s not easy to tip over.
So happy with this product and you will be too!
This little grit station really does the trick for an outdoor run. I leave it outside with the chickens and ducks and they have all been using it when needed. I wasn’t sure at first but after being left outside for a week or so my birds took to it and now I see them in and out of it frequently.
As long as the station is full and lid is snapped tight, the station works perfectly. Chickens can't scratch the grit out and it stays dry. Good buy for the price.
This feeder is easy to assemble and clean. Feeder is customizable giving poultry owners the chance to fill entire feeder with feed or place the tri compartment organizer in allowing you to add feed, grit, calcium, or whatever you choose.
