You put the chicken feeder outside.
Unfortunately, so did the wind, rain, dirt, leaves, and chickens.
The Anti-Soil Trough Shield adds an extra barrier around the feeding area of your 22 lb Galvanized Cone Feeder, helping protect the trough from blowing debris, splashing rain, and whatever your chickens manage to kick in its general direction.
Because apparently the feeder needed a little personal space.
The shield attaches around the trough, creating a barrier between the feed and some of the mess happening around it.
It's especially handy for feeders used in covered outdoor areas where wind can still blow rain, dirt, leaves, and other debris toward the feeding tray.
This isn't a magic force field. Your feeder should still be positioned somewhere protected from direct weather, and you'll still need to check the feed regularly.
It just gives the trough a little backup.
Brush away accumulated dirt and debris and clean the shield as needed with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry before putting it back into use.
Inspect it periodically for damage or anything that could interfere with birds comfortably accessing the feed.
