Four side-mounted nipple drinkers give adult chickens access to water without an open drinking reservoir, while the translucent bucket lets you check the water level without opening the whole thing up.

Setting Up Your Heated Hen Hydrator

Hang the waterer securely at a comfortable drinking height for your birds. For most adult chickens, the nipples should be positioned so they can reach up slightly and activate the metal pin with their beaks.

If your flock hasn't used nipple drinkers before, tap the nipple until a droplet forms and show them where the water comes from. Watch your birds closely during the transition and make sure they are successfully drinking before relying on the hydrator as their only water source.

Keep the waterer adequately filled during use and check water levels regularly, especially during cold weather.

Winter Safety & Care

Plug the hydrator into a properly installed GFCI-protected outlet. Keep electrical connections dry and protected from weather, and follow the manufacturer's instructions for any extension cord use.

Inspect the power cord, bucket, lid, and nipples regularly and discontinue use if anything becomes damaged. Do not operate the waterer dry.

Rinse and clean the bucket and lid regularly and check each nipple to make sure it's operating properly. Allow the unit to dry completely before storing it for the season.
