Quit playing “smash the ice” every morning. This 150W Chicken Waterer De-Icer keeps flock water liquid in freezing temps and stays off when it isn’t needed. It’s Teflon-coated for durability, SAFE IN PLASTIC, and designed to work with nipple drinker chicken water buckets and most standard waterers.
Power: 150 watts (120 VAC, 60 Hz)
Control: Thermostatically controlled—operates only when ambient temps require (typically below ~35°F)
Finish: Teflon-coated heating surface for durability and easy cleaning
Compatibility: Works with nipple drinker buckets and most chicken waterers (plastic or metal)
Cord: Outdoor-rated; use with a grounded GFCI outlet
Read all instructions and inspect the cord/plug before first use.
Place the de-icer directly in your chicken waterer (bucket, fount, or reservoir). Keep the heating surface fully submerged when operating.
Plug the unit into a 14–16 gauge outdoor extension cord, then into a fully grounded 120V GFCI outlet.
Fill/keep filled: Maintain normal water level; do not operate dry.
The unit is thermostatically controlled and will cycle on as temperatures drop and off as they rise (typically above ~35°F).
When sustained temps are well above freezing, unplug, wipe down the unit, and store dry.
Use only on 120V/15A circuits. Do not exceed the circuit’s capacity.
Keep connections dry and off the ground; route cords where birds can’t peck or trip.
Plastic waterers: This unit is SAFE IN PLASTIC; ensure the heater surface remains submerged (running dry can damage any de-icer).
Do not modify the unit, pierce the housing, or use if the cord is damaged.
Do not cover the de-icer; allow water circulation around it.
For outdoor setups, always use a GFCI-protected outlet.
Unplug and allow to cool. Wipe with a damp cloth; avoid harsh abrasives. Dry fully before storage.
