This Clamp-On Brooder Reflector Heat Lamp gives chicks a focused source of supplemental heat with a 10.5-inch aluminum reflector, heat-resistant ceramic socket, and double-wire bulb guard. The scratch-resistant clamp and adjustable ball joint make positioning easy, while the built-in hanger gives you a second way to secure the fixture.

How to Use

Position the lamp so it heats only part of the brooder, leaving chicks plenty of room to move away from the heat when they're warm enough. Adjust the height as needed and use a thermometer at chick level to monitor the heated area.

Watch the chicks too. If they're piling tightly beneath the lamp, they're likely too cold. If they're avoiding the heated area, they're likely too warm.

Heat Lamp Safety

Use the clamp to position the lamp, then secure the built-in hanger with a separate nonflammable chain or wire. Never rely on the clamp alone.

Keep the lamp, bulb, cord, and guard safely away from bedding and other combustible materials. Keep the fixture dry, inspect it regularly for damage, and unplug it before repositioning the lamp or changing the bulb.
