Chicken Ecstasy Treat

We didn't name it.

But after watching chickens find the mealworms in the bag, we're not exactly arguing with it.

Chicken Ecstasy is a loose mix of red milo, cracked corn, barley, wheat, flax, dried mealworms, kelp, and a few other goodies that turns a handful of treats into something worth scratching around for.

Scatter it across the run and watch everyone suddenly become extremely committed to finding every last piece.

Apparently ecstasy looks a lot like a chicken with her butt in the air digging for a mealworm.

There's a Lot Going On in This Bag

This isn't a one-note chicken treat.

Grains and seeds make up the base, dried mealworms are hiding throughout, and kelp, marigold extract, and paprika extract round out the mix.

Different pieces mean different things to find, which is exactly why we like this one scattered instead of dumped into a pile. Make them hunt around a little.

How to Serve

Scatter a handful across the run or another clean, dry area and let your chickens scratch around for it. You can also add some to an appropriate treat toy or dispenser when you want to make snack time take a little more effort.

Reseal the bag after use and store somewhere cool and dry, away from moisture and direct sunlight.

Like all treats, this is the fun stuff, not dinner. Treats should make up no more than 10% of your flock's diet, with a complete, balanced poultry feed doing the heavy lifting and fresh water always available.
