  • Weight: Hens approximately 3.5 lbs, Cocks (roosters) about 5 lbs.
  • Egg Production: Averages 150-180 white to cream medium-sized eggs per year.
  • Temperament: Hardy, active, and independent, ideal for free-range environments.
  • Broodiness: Occasionally broody; reliable mothers.
  • Climate Adaptation: Extremely hardy in cold conditions and moderately tolerant to heat.

• Historical Excellence: Centuries of selective breeding in Iceland have perfected these birds' foraging skills, broodiness, and consistent laying abilities, enriching your egg basket with uniquely colored eggs.

• Ordering and Shipping:

  • Flexible Delivery: Select your preferred delivery week; we ship on Mondays to Wednesdays to ensure freshness.
  • Tracking Information: Stay updated with real-time tracking info, enabling you to prepare for their arrival.
  • Special Packaging: Each egg is wrapped in layers of tissue, ensuring snugness, placed in an egg carton, and surrounded by biodegradable packing peanuts for optimal cushioning during shipping. Packages are shipped via USPS Priority Insured or Express to US addresses only. Option for local post office hold available on request.
  • Due to changes in USPS policies, we must apply a $15 shipping surcharge to ensure safe and timely delivery of your order.
