• Country of Origin: Scotland – A historic landrace breed from the rugged Shetland Isles.
• Size: Hens ~4-5 lbs, Roosters ~5-6.5 lbs – A compact but robust breed.
• Egg Production: 150-200 medium-sized eggs per year, in shades of pale tinted, blue, or green.
• Personality: Active, social, and people-friendly—thrives on attention and interaction.
• Broodiness: Occasionally broody, with a natural inclination for raising chicks.
• Climate Adaptability: Tolerant of both cold and moderate climates, making them a versatile addition to any flock.

Chick Ordering & Shipping Details

• Shipped at One Day Old – Chicks are shipped unvaccinated and ready to grow in their new home.
• Straight Run Only – Chicks are sold unsexed, adding an element of excitement as they mature.
• Minimum Order of 6 Chicks – Start your flock with at least six chicks, or mix and match breeds for variety.
• Safe, Express Shipping – Chicks ship on Tuesdays via USPS Priority Express at a flat rate of $75, ensuring swift and secure delivery.
• Local Pick-Up Option – Pick up your chicks in person at our designated off-site location on the advertised ship date.

Before You Order:

We start preparing your hatch as soon as your order is confirmed. That means reserving incubator space and putting your hatch on the schedule.

If you cancel more than 3 weeks before your scheduled ship date, there’s no fee and we’ll issue a full refund.

If you cancel within 3 weeks of your scheduled ship date, a $10 non-refundable prep fee will apply. At that point, your eggs have likely already been set, and we’ve invested time and resources into your hatch.

We’re not a factory farm and every chick matters. Thanks for understanding and helping us do this the right way.
