1.6 Quart Classic Chick Waterer

Keep hydration simple and drama-free. This classic chick waterer holds 1.6 quarts (≈1.5 liters)—enough for brooder life without turning into a swamp. The push-fit top makes refills quick, while the coned center discourages chicks from roosting (and pooping) on the lid, so the drinking area stays cleaner. The shallow, narrow-lipped tray is made for small beaks and small bodies, lowering drowning risk while keeping water easy to reach. No learning curve, no gimmicks—just a reliable, easy-clean setup that supports healthy drinking from day one.

At-a-Glance

  • Capacity: 1.6 qt / ~51 oz / ~1.5 L

  • Push-fit top with anti-roost cone

  • Shallow, narrow-lip tray for chick safety

  • Works in indoor brooders or outdoor protected areas

Who It’s For

New keepers setting up a first brooder, seasoned hatchers who want a dependable standby, and anyone raising chicks or small poultry (including bantams) who values safe, simple gear over gimmicks.

What’s Included / Specs

  • 1 × Classic chick waterer (1.6-quart capacity)

  • Low-profile base with narrow drinking lip

  • Push-fit reservoir top with coned center

How to Use / What to Expect

  1. Rinse & Fill: Rinse before first use. Fill the top, seat it firmly, and invert to lock.

  2. Place Smart: Set on a 1–2″ riser (brick or low stand) so bedding stays out but chicks still reach it. Keep near the warm edge of the brooder—not under the heat source.

  3. Daily Rhythm: Refresh water at least once daily (twice in heat). Quick scrub if you see film; a bottle brush makes fast work of the tray.

  4. Extra-Cautious (Days 1–3): Optional ring of clean pebbles/marbles in the tray to further reduce plunge depth.

Care & Cleaning

Hand wash with mild soap or a dilute white-vinegar rinse; rinse thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemicals that can leave residue. In sunny spots, keep out of direct blazing sun to slow algae growth. Store dry between batches.

Shipping & Timing

Ships with your farm-supply order. (Note: any print-on-demand items in the same cart—tees, stickers—ship separately.)

Perfect waterer for a brooder!

I picked this item because I needed a waterer that is small enough for my brooder. This holds a good amount of water. It is easy to fill and perfect lip for small chicks to prevent drowning. The mama’s and their chicks approve!
