Automatic egg turning handles the repetitive part, digital temperature control keeps that job off your plate, and external water fill means you don't have to crack open the incubator every time you need to add water.

Basically, it's enough incubator to have some fun without accidentally opening a small hatchery in your spare bedroom.

About the Egg Turner

The automatic turner doesn't just move the eggs once an hour. Borotto's RandomFlex Motion System® varies both the timing and amount of tilt throughout incubation.

In other words, egg turning is one less thing you have to remember to do several times a day.

When it's time to stop turning, follow the incubation schedule for the species you're hatching and Borotto's instructions for transitioning the incubator to hatch.

Temperature & Humidity

The Lumia 16 uses Borotto's PID system to control temperature, with the current temperature shown on the digital display.

Humidity is still something you manage. Water is added to reservoirs in the base through external fill points, which means you don't have to open the incubator just to add water.

How much humidity you need depends on what you're hatching and where you are in the incubation cycle. Don't use one number for everything.

If you'd rather automate the water side too, the Lumia 16 works with the Borotto® SIRIO Automatic Humidity Pump, sold separately.

Before You Add Eggs

Put the incubator on a stable, level surface indoors, away from direct sunlight, drafts, vents, and other things that'll screw with the temperature around it. Get everything set up and running according to Borotto's instructions before you load your hatching eggs.

Then let the incubator do its job.

You are still going to stare through that clear lid.
