Which is a pain in the ass, because the feeder itself is still perfectly useful.

So we're clearing out the last ones we have, and once they're gone, they're gone.

The bright orange hanging feeder spins as chickens peck at it, turning treat time into something your flock has to interact with instead of simply inhaling from a bowl.

No Hentastic Treat Sticks? No Problem.

This feeder was designed to hold four Hentastic Chicken Treat Sticks, but those treats have also been discontinued.

That doesn't mean the feeder is useless.

Try tucking chicken-safe greens such as kale or pieces of cabbage into the openings, or make your own chicken-safe suet-style treats and press the mixture into the holes.

There are plenty of homemade chicken treat recipes out there, so this is also a good excuse to experiment with your own combinations using ingredients that are appropriate for your flock.

Whatever you use should stay securely in the feeder while still giving your chickens something they can safely peck apart.

Treats are extras, not the main meal. Keep them to a small part of the flock's overall diet and let a complete, balanced poultry feed do the heavy lifting.

How to Use

Add suitable treats to the openings and hang the feeder where your chickens can comfortably reach it.

Watch the flock the first time you introduce a new treat or setup to make sure everything stays secure and the birds are using it safely.

Remove old food before it spoils and clean the feeder regularly with mild soap and water.
