You found bugs on your chickens.
Fantastic.
GardStar® Garden & Poultry Dust is a ready-to-use permethrin poultry dust for controlling Northern Fowl Mites, Poultry Mites, and lice on chickens and in poultry housing. No mixing a concentrate or figuring out spray ratios while you're already pissed off about finding parasites.
The 2 lb shaker canister lets you apply the dust where the label directs, including poultry and the areas where mites and lice hide around their housing.
Because once you've discovered chicken mites or lice, nobody wants pest control to become a whole second hobby.
GardStar contains 0.25% permethrin, an insecticide labeled for controlling Northern Fowl Mites, Poultry Mites, and lice. The ready-to-use powder can be applied to poultry as well as poultry litter, floors, roosts, and other interior surfaces according to label directions.
That matters because poultry parasites don't all spend their time politely sitting somewhere obvious waiting for you to find them.
For poultry use, GardStar is labeled for:
GardStar is a broader multi-purpose insecticide with additional labeled uses outside poultry keeping, but we're going to stay in our lane here. You came to the Chicken Health section because something is crawling around where it shouldn't be.
The product contains a maximum 55% cis and minimum 45% trans isomer ratio of permethrin.
This is a pesticide, so the label gets the final word.
Use GardStar exactly according to the directions on the current product label, including the labeled application amounts, treatment locations, precautions, and repeat-treatment instructions. Do not improvise application rates or assume that more powder means better control.
Avoid breathing the dust and avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Keep out of reach of children. GardStar is extremely toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates, so do not apply it directly to water or allow it to contaminate water. Store in a cool, dry area away from children and pets.
When you're dealing with chicken mites or lice, identify what you're actually fighting and follow the label for that pest.
Then kill the little bastards accordingly.
