Opening a chicken feeder shouldn't require disassembly, three hands, and several words you wouldn't say in front of your grandmother.
The Top Fill Chicken Feeder keeps refills simple. Flip open the hinged lid, pour in up to 9 pounds of feed, close it back up, and you're done.
The dome-shaped top also helps discourage chickens from using the feeder as a chair.
Because if there's a surface available, somebody's eventually going to put a chicken butt on it.
The 9 lb hopper gives you a decent amount of feed capacity without turning every refill into a project.
Instead of taking the feeder apart to refill it, the hinged top opens from above so you can pour feed directly into the hopper.
The curved lid serves another purpose too. Its dome shape makes the top a considerably less convenient place to perch, which is exactly what we want above the chicken feed.
Not everything in the coop needs to double as seating.
Place the feeder on a stable, level surface where your birds can comfortably reach the feeding openings. If needed, raise it on a sturdy platform as your birds grow, making sure everyone can still easily access their feed.
Open the hinged lid, add dry poultry feed, and close the lid securely.
Keep the feeder in a dry, protected location and check the feed regularly for moisture, contamination, or clumping. Empty and clean as needed with mild soap and water, rinse thoroughly, and allow it to dry completely before refilling.
Flip the lid.
Pour the feed.
Walk away before somebody decides the feed bag looks interesting too.
