Swedish Flower Hens, or Svenska Blommehöns, are a rare Swedish landrace breed known for their breathtaking color diversity and friendly nature. No two chicks are exactly alike—each one hatches with a unique feather pattern and coloration, ensuring a stunningly diverse flock. These birds are cold-hardy, excellent foragers, and highly adaptable, making them a fantastic choice for both beginner and experienced chicken keepers.

• Country of Origin: Sweden – A historic landrace breed.
• Size: Hens ~5 lbs, Roosters ~6 lbs – A sturdy, dual-purpose breed.
• Egg Production: 150-200 medium-sized cream to light brown eggs per year.
• Personality: Friendly, curious, and sociable—great for family flocks.
• Broodiness: Occasionally broody and known to be attentive mothers.
• Climate Adaptability: Cold-hardy with good heat tolerance, thriving in various environments.

Chick Ordering & Shipping Details

• Shipped at One Day Old – Chicks are shipped unvaccinated and ready to grow in their new home.
• Straight Run Only – Chicks are sold unsexed, meaning you'll discover their genders as they mature.
• Minimum Order of 6 Chicks – Start your flock with at least six chicks, or mix and match breeds for variety.
• Safe, Express Shipping – Chicks ship on Tuesdays via USPS Priority Express at a flat rate of $75, ensuring swift, safe delivery.
• Local Pick-Up Option – Pick up your chicks in person at our designated off-site location on the advertised ship date.

• Extra Chicks When Available – When possible, we include bonus chicks, occasionally from a different breed. If you have preferences, you can note them at checkout.
• NPIP-Certified & A/I Clean – Our flock meets National Poultry Improvement Plan (NPIP) standards under participant #31-1508 (Tina Hines).
• Virtual Farm Connection – While we do not offer public farm visits, we share photos, video chats, and personalized customer support to help you feel connected to your chicks’ origins.

Before You Order:

We start preparing your hatch as soon as your order is confirmed. That means reserving incubator space and putting your hatch on the schedule.

If you cancel more than 3 weeks before your scheduled ship date, there’s no fee and we’ll issue a full refund.

If you cancel within 3 weeks of your scheduled ship date, a $10 non-refundable prep fee will apply. At that point, your eggs have likely already been set, and we’ve invested time and resources into your hatch.

We’re not a factory farm and every chick matters. Thanks for understanding and helping us do this the right way.
