HEN PICKED Chicks

This isn't your usual chirpy chick package; it's a box brimming with feathered fluff balls that are set to be your new best buddies. Each box comes with 10 heart-meltingly cute chicks that could come from any one of four amazing breeds - Swedish Flower Hen, Shetland Hen, Swedish Black Hen,Icelandic or Hedemora.

Here are some facts about these breeds before you decide to add them to your coop.

Swedish Flower Hen

• Country of Origin: Sweden
• Weights: Hens ~5 lbs, Cocks ~6 lbs
• Average Number of Eggs/Year: 150-200
• Egg Color: Cream to light brown
• Egg Size: Medium
• Personality: Friendly, curious, and sociable; great for families
• Broodiness: Occasionally broody; good mothers
• Climate Tolerance: Hardy in cold; moderate in heat

Hedemora

• Country of Origin: Sweden
• Weights: Hens ~4 lbs, Cocks ~5 lbs
• Average Number of Eggs/Year: 150
• Egg Color: Creamy white to slightly brownish/beige, dots and small spots may occur
• Egg Size: Medium
• Personality: Calm, friendly, and hardy; adapts well to confinement
• Broodiness: Often broody; excellent mothers
• Climate Tolerance: Exceptionally cold hardy; struggles in high heat

Swedish Black Hen

• Country of Origin: Sweden
• Weights: Hens ~3 lbs, Cocks ~4.5 lbs
• Average Number of Eggs/Year: 100-150
• Egg Color: Light brown
• Egg Size: Small to medium
• Personality: Alert, intelligent, and somewhat aloof
• Broodiness: Occasionally broody
• Climate Tolerance: Cold hardy, somewhat heat tolerant

Shetland Hen

• Country of Origin: Scotland
• Weights: Hens ~2 to 3 lbs, Cocks ~3.5 to 4.5 lbs
• Average Number of Eggs/Year: 180-200
• Egg Color: Pale tinted to blue or green
• Egg Size: Medium
• Personality: Active, friendly, and thrives on attention
• Broodiness: Sometimes broody
• Climate Tolerance: Robust in both cold and moderate heat

Icelandic

• Country of Origin: Iceland
• Weights: Hens ~3.5 lbs, Cocks ~5 lbs
• Average Number of Eggs/Year: 150-180
• Egg Color: White to cream
• Egg Size: Medium
• Personality: Hardy, active, and independent; great for free-range environments
• Broodiness: Occasionally broody; reliable mothers when they choose to sit
• Climate Tolerance: Extremely hardy in cold conditions; moderately tolerant to heat

Chicks are shipped at 1 day old and are unvaccinated. 

There will be a flat rat of $60 for USPS Priority Express Shipping.  Local pick up is welcome but someone will meet you at a designated spot off of our property.  

We ship on Monday or Tuesday to ensure chicks do not sit in a PO over the weekend.  We only ship to US addresses.  Once the box leaves the farm, we are no longer responsible for the handling.  

Extras are sent IF they are available.  (Most times there will be, but there is the potential that there will not be extras available at the time of shipment.)

Cluck It All Farms participates in the NPIP program and is A/I clean.  NPIP certification is under Tina Hines and participant number is 31-1508.

While we do not allow the public around our flocks, we are happy to send photos or video chat with you.  If you wish to pick up eggs, we will meet at a designated spot, off site.  Please feel free to contact us anytime.
