A Unique Assortment of Rare & Hardy Heritage Breeds

Hatching your own chicks is always exciting, but with HEN PICKED Hatching Eggs, you get the added thrill of variety! Each dozen contains a mix of six remarkable heritage breeds, offering a blend of personalities, colors, and egg-laying abilities. Whether you’re looking for cold-hardy winter layers, striking black-feathered birds, or small but mighty foragers, this assortment is perfect for backyard chicken keepers, homesteaders, and conservation breeders alike.

What Breeds Might You Hatch?

Your eggs may include any of these six hardy, heritage breeds:

  • Swedish Flower Hen – Friendly and curious, these colorful Swedish birds weigh about 5 lbs and lay 150-200 cream to light brown eggs per year. Hardy in cold and moderate heat.
  • Hedemora – Exceptionally cold-hardy and calm, these Swedish hens weigh 4 lbs and lay 150 creamy white to beige eggs, sometimes speckled.
  • Swedish Black Hen (Svart Höna) – A rare all-black breed with a striking appearance. Intelligent but independent, they weigh 3 lbs and lay 100-150 small to medium light brown eggs.
  • Shetland Hen – A lively and friendly breed from Scotland. Weighing 2-3 lbs, they lay 150-200 pale tinted to blue or green eggs per year and adapt well to various climates.
  • Icelandic – A hardy, independent breed that thrives in free-range environments. Weighing 3.5 lbs, they lay 150-180 medium white to cream eggs annually and do well in extreme cold.
  • Ölandsk Dwarf – A rare, small landrace from Sweden’s Öland Island. These 1.5-2 lb birds are excellent foragers and lay 100-160 small cream to tinted eggs per year.

A Surprise in Every Hatch

Each dozen includes a diverse selection from these breeds, giving you the chance to hatch a mix of unique personalities and egg colors. Whether you receive a colorful flock of Swedish Flower Hens, the striking black beauty of a Swedish Black Hen, or the compact hardiness of an Ölandsk Dwarf, your new additions will bring something special to your coop.

We’re here to help! Whether you’re a seasoned hatcher or incubating eggs for the first time, we provide guidance and support to ensure a successful hatch.

Disclaimer: Please be aware that while Cluck It All Farms takes every precaution to ensure the highest quality of our hatching eggs, several factors can impact the hatch rate and development of embryos. These include incubation practices, handling during shipment, and the environment in which eggs are incubated. While our eggs have a 90% hatch rate under controlled farm conditions, variations can occur during transit such as detached air cells, which may affect the hatchability. We are committed to transparency and quality but cannot guarantee specific outcomes once eggs leave our farm. For best results, we recommend following our detailed hatching guide and contacting us for any queries or support needed throughout your hatching journey.
