Automated Egg Turning: Features an automatic egg turner that rotates eggs every 4 hours to ensure even incubation and enhance hatch rates without the need for manual turning.
Optimized Air Circulation: Integrated fan circulates fresh air throughout the incubator, creating a stable and optimal hatching environment for improved hatch rates and healthier chicks.
Digital Display for Easy Monitoring: Keep track of temperature, humidity, and days to hatch with a user-friendly digital display, allowing for precise adjustments to suit chicken, duck, or goose eggs.
Convenient Humidity Management: E-Z fill water channels allow for easy water addition without opening the lid, maintaining ideal humidity levels through two separate water channels.
Temperature Alert System: Equipped with a high/low temperature notification light, alerting you if conditions fall outside the optimal range (97°F to 103°F), ensuring your eggs’ safety.
Clear Viewing Experience: Enjoy a 360° view through the incubator’s window, allowing you to observe the hatching process from all angles and experience the excitement of development.
Spacious Design: The deep bottom tray is suitable for larger eggs, such as those from ducks and geese, making it versatile for different types of poultry.
Reliable Model: Model #2450 showcases our commitment to innovation with patent-pending features designed to meet the specific needs of poultry enthusiasts.
Additional Recommendation: While the incubator includes a built-in thermometer/hygrometer, we recommend using a separate device to ensure accuracy in monitoring temperature and humidity levels.
I bought the incubator and one dozen eggs from this farm trusting things to go well. I kept the incubator at 99.5-100.4 at all times for 18 days with the auto egg turner on, then turned it up to 102.4 and removed auto turner. Waited.. waited only two hatched and both those had the splayed legs unable to walk. My girls were so disappointed. We had been watching so faithfully and carefully keeping track of the temp and everything. All eggs were duds but two. Ive got bandaids on the babies legs and they are coming along nicely but so much for hatching a little flock.
It sounds like you and your girls had quite the adventure, albeit with some unexpected challenges along the way. We're truly sorry to hear that your hatching experience didn't go as smoothly as anticipated. It's clear you put a lot of care and attention into monitoring the incubation process, which is commendable.
Thank you for sharing your feedback, as it helps us to understand where things might go awry and how we can better support our fellow chicken enthusiasts. Regarding the temperature, maintaining a steady 99.5-100.4°F during the initial incubation period is spot on, but raising it to 102.4°F towards the end is slightly higher than recommended. Ideally, it should stay around 100.5°F. Even a brief rise above 103°F can be risky, potentially affecting the embryos inside. This is why we always recommend using a secondary thermometer/hygrometer inside your incubator. The built-in displays can sometimes be off, which might lead to misleading temperature or humidity readings.
Also, it's quite tricky to determine if an egg was viable to begin with once incubation has started, as the early developmental signs can be subtle.
It's heartwarming to hear you're nursing the little chicks with splayed legs, and we hope they continue to improve under your diligent care. If there's anything more we can do to assist you in this journey or if you decide to try hatching again, please don't hesitate to reach out. We’re here to support you and your flock, every step of the way!
