Chick Brooder Heat Plate

  • Optimal Warmth for Chicks: Provides gentle warmth from the underside, ensuring chicks stay comfortably warm without excessive heat. The surface temperature is safe at 125°F.
  • Energy-Efficient: Consumes only 15 watts (66 watts for the larger plate) compared to 175 or 250 watts of a traditional heat lamp, reducing electricity use.
  • Fire Safety: Lower surface temperature minimizes fire risk, offering a safer heating solution compared to heat lamps.
  • Calm and Comfortable: Chicks raised under the plate appear more calm and relaxed compared to those under heat lamps.
  • Rugged and Easy to Clean: The optional rugged plate cover (sold separately) prevents older chicks from perching and soiling the unit. The plate itself can be hand-washed to remove dust and debris (avoid submerging in water).

  • How to Use:

    • Adjustable Height: Set the height of the plate with the yellow legs so it nearly touches the backs of the chicks. Adjust the height as the chicks grow to maintain optimal warmth.

    • Temperature Management: The plate feels warm but not hot. Chicks can move away if they get too warm, so ensure they have enough space to move around.

    • Indicator Lights: When plugged directly into an outlet, the red light stays on continuously. When connected to a Heating Plate Temperature Controller, the light blinks based on temperature settings, with a slow blink indicating the minimum and a faster blink indicating the maximum.

    • Versatile Use: Ideal for use with the Heating Plate Temperature Controller for precise temperature adjustments.

Heat Plate

I wanted a heat plate for a safer means of keeping my chicks warm. It's hard to tell how hot it is, the temperature gauge and controller should be standard and come with it. The chicks seem happy enough sleeping underneath it and I love that it is adjustable as they grow. Thanks Cluck It All 😊
