Rolling Forage Cylinder Chicken Treats Toy

It's basically a tiny vending machine your chickens have to kick around.

The Rolling Forage Cylinder holds small, dry treats inside and drops pieces as your flock pecks, pushes, and rolls it across the ground.

There are no buttons.

There is no customer service.

If they want the snacks, they're going to have to figure this one out themselves.

Roll It Until Snacks Happen

Unscrew the cap, add some appropriately sized dry goodies, and set the cylinder down on a relatively flat surface.

As your chickens peck and push it around, treats can work their way through the openings and fall out for somebody to immediately claim.

Fill it with scratch grains, dried black soldier fly larvae, mealworms, small pellets, or another dry treat that moves easily through the openings.

Then let the chickens handle operations.

Efficiency will vary by employee.

How to Use

Unscrew the cap and add a small amount of dry treats or appropriately sized feed. Don't use wet, sticky, or powdered foods that may clog the openings or make the inside difficult to clean.

Place the cylinder on a reasonably flat, dry surface where it has room to roll. If your flock doesn't immediately understand the assignment, give it a little push yourself and let a few treats fall out.

Eventually somebody will connect the dots.

There's usually one overachiever.

Check the cylinder regularly for cracks, sharp edges, or other damage and remove it from use if damaged.

Rinse with warm water after use. Mild soap can be used as needed. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before refilling.

If you're filling it with treats rather than regular feed, remember that treats should make up no more than 10% of your flock's diet, with a complete, balanced poultry feed doing the heavy lifting and fresh water always available.
